It amazes me how such a popular social media website and it’s owners think it’s okay to shutdown for an hour of maintenance… in the middle of the day.
Wouldn’t it have been smarter to do it between 1:00 am & 2:00 am? At least maybe some of us can actually get some work done, rather than hanging out on Twitter all day.
Here’s the screen I was welcomed with during the maintenance:

If you’re interested in hanging out, friendfeed is still up!
What are you thoughts on Twitter shutting down in the middle of the day?

Since twitter is a world wide social place, it is actually the middle of the night in some places.
Maybe when they monetize, they can pay staff to do maintenance around the clock. Until then, I think we’re all out of luck.
Why don’t they do it at midnight or 3 am? If Twitter were monetizing their site imagine how much money they would lose.
