There are lots of great prizes out there, but marketing a contest if you're not a Shoemoney or a Problogger can be tough! When we work with bloggers, they'll ask for some amazing prizes to give away- but don't promote the contest!

Having piles of iPods, Flips, or cash to give away is great, but like you said, if no one knows about it, then the blogger and their audience lose.

I'd rather have the cash...as long as it's not taxed or anything.

We are currently in the process of launching a few contests/giveaways and you're right, figuring out exactly what your readers want as prizes can be a tricky task in itself.

However, I definitely agree with you that one of the best ways to go about this, is by simply asking them what they want and listening to their feedback.

That way, you give away prizes you know your readers would love to win, which in turn, will make them even more excited to participate! :-)
