Have you ever changed things on your blog? Maybe you’ve added some affiliate programs, or changed others.

It’s good to change these often to get the best bang for your buck, but never let them go unnoticed.

A Nice Example

My wife, Ashley, over at BossSanders.com updated the entire look of her blog. She also added some affiliate programs in her sidebar to try to make a little money. And while the entire face-lift for the blog may not have gone unnoticed by her readers, the ads on the side may have.

You can see the post she made about it here.

Be Active In Directing Readers’ Attentions

Readers visit your blog for one reason. To read your posts.

Chances are, some readers won’t even glance at your sidebar, or admire how amazing that logo of yours is. You have to be active in getting them to notice things.

It’s not rocket science to get your readers to notice changes. Just remember when you make big changes to things that could make your money, like affiliate programs, write a blog post about it. Let your readers know some information about that change.

If it’s an affiliate program, write up a review of the program and include your affiliate links. If it’s a new plugin, let readers know why you’re using it, and how well it’s performing for you, as well as your affiliate links (if it wasn’t a free plugin).

You’d be surprised out how much better this entices readers to take action, rather than simply displaying an ad in a place they may never look.

What increases in results have you gotten by posting about your blog additions?
