Deadly Midwest Ice Storm Hits Kentucky

I won’t be able to make many posts for a while.  I live here in Kentucky and we’ve had the worst weather we’ve ever seen here.

No one has power.  All phones are down, including AT&T cell phone service.  I’ve got just enough signal and battery power to type this post.

My wife and kid are with her parents and I haven’t been able to get hold of them.

I’ll talk to all of you in a week or two.

I do hope you are all OK. Hard to comprehend because here in Melbourne it’s been hovering around 44 degrees celsius for a few days. Same problems with power outages, no air con, transport chaos due to rail network meltdown. Please send us some ice.

I’ll send you some ice, if you’ll send some sun. :) I got called in for federal disaster relief and have limited internet access. So I’ll be around some.

Oh my, you want to keep warm. Get as much Hot Tea as you can. Hope you, your family and everyone out there can bundle up, drink plenty of warm liquids to keep warm. Once this is all over, I am sure you will have plenty of wonderful stories to share with us. :)

I hope you’re doing well, and that by now you’ve gotten ahold of your wife and child.

I’m originally from the area, and was back visiting before leaving to study abroad. My wife and I left just in time, the airport at Nashville shut down either that night. We left family in the area, though, and it’s been hard, not being able to talk to them. Finally got ahold of everyone yesterday, nothing too bad other than all of the trees down and still no power.

I hear that power came back on in parts of Marshall County (I assume it’s the whole area). I hope everything is well with you and yours!
