The internet’s ability to deliver an endless supply of kick-ass content to your home theater may eventually mean the death of Blu-ray discs. But that’s years in the future, and you have friends to impress and brain cells to waste right now.

So check this out: Besides playing Blu-ray Profile 2.0 discs, the BD-P4600 can reach into the internet and pull out any title from Netflix’s wild and weird “Watch Instantly” library on demand (if you’re a subscriber). After the movie you can use it to fire up internet radio super-service Pandora on-screen.

While BD movies get cheaper and the quality of internet video increases, the content war will intensify: Get this gadget, shut yourself in, and enjoy the best of both worlds now.

You can get your very own Samsung BD-P4600 from Amazon for only $399. It was $500.

Imagine yourself, laying on the beach, checking out the beautiful… water, when you spot the girl of your dreams walking toward you. So you whip it out and pull on it, making it longer. Then your wife steps up beside you as you hit the camera button and wait for the picture to be taken.

With the XShot Camera Extender, you can be in the picture too. Instead of reminiscing about vacation days long gone, looking at all of the photos where you seem to be missing, you can now have proof that you were actually the guy your wife was hanging around with on the beach that day.

The XShot doesn’t just work with digital cameras either, you can also put a small video camera on it, like the Flip or Canon FS200, to take those awesome videos of the conference you finally scraped up enough money to attend.

This thing is awesome and surprisingly I use it way more than I thought I would. It does attract a lot of attention and helps start conversations as well. So for all of you that are shy, it is a great way to talk to others at a conference or networking event. And with a price-tag of only $30, it’s a steal.

With the XShot, you become the life of the party!

Click here to get your XShot now!

Here’s some specifics about the XShot straight from the website:

When it comes to portable solar chargers, FreeLoader is one of the most recognized names in the market. The basic FreeLoader that has been launched last year by UK-based company Solar Technology has now been upgraded into the FreeLoader Pro.

The Pro version of the charger is described as the “super powered” FreeLoader. It can charge anything from cell phones and ebook readers to handheld gaming devices and music players. It even has a multi-voltage switch that lets users switch to 9.5 volts from a lower voltage in order to charge larger electronics like laptops, MP4 players, and portable DVD players.

Additionally, an accessory called the CamCaddy that comes with the FreeLoader Pro will let you charge batteries used for video, digital cam and SLR batteries as long as they’re between 3.2 and 7.9 volts. Solar Technology claims CamCaddy is the only battery charger capable of charging batteries for virtually all cameras.

FreeLoader Pro is equipped with a 200mA solar panel made of crystalline solar cells and a lithium ion battery that takes seven to nine hours of exposure under sunlight to become fully-charged.

You can learn more about the FreeLoader Pro or buy one for yourself at www.ThinkGeek.com for only $79.99

With sub-$300 price tags and cute names like Wind and Eee, the cheapo laptops now known as netbooks are outselling every other kind of computer on the market. Unfortunately, their cramped keyboards, low-res screens, and processors that can barely handle a 1993 version of Doom make most of them good for little more than basic email.

That’s why I dig Sony’s new P series: It has the svelte size and weight of a netbook (9.6″ x 4.7″ x .78″, 1.4 pounds) with the brains of a notebook — it’s 1.33 GHz processor and 2 GB RAM provide enough muscle to run a big-boy OS (like the new Windows 7) without a hitch.

It’s eight-inch LED-lit screen is actually smaller than most of the competition, but thanks to its ultrawide 1,600 x 768 resolution, the Vaio P handles HD video. Meanwhile, most netbooks are lucky if they can get through a YouTube video of a sneezing panda without freezing up.

The Vaio P even has a built-in turn-by-turn GPS for those times when you’re feeling a little lost.

Unfortunately, the P’s starting price of $900 will keep it out of impulse purchase territory. But, hey, small, fast, cheap – pick two.

You can learn more about the Sony Vaio P or buy one for yourself at www.sonystyle.com.

The sleek all-in-one unit’s 21.5-inch HD screen and hidden speakers and sub make it perfect for doing double duty as a bedroom TV. It even has a sweet remote control/air mouse and wireless keyboard.

A Core 2 Duo processor, optional ATI Radeon graphics card, and up to 4 GB of DDR3 memory provide enough muscle to play intensive games like Crysis as well.

Sure, you could install MS Office, but this rig’s best features are all geared to help you avoid work altogether.

You can get the Lenovo A600 from Amazon for $994.39. Click here to learn more!

For this week’s “Gadget of the Week” we take a look at a product of futuristic proportions. The iRiver Wave Home.

iRiver’s Wave Home makes phone calls over the Internet, browses the internet, and plays video games, and photos on a seven-inch 800×480 touchscreen display. A wi-fi video phone wedded to a 1 GB entertainment-spewing box small enough to sit on a kitchen counter or a bedside table, this thing fits in well with flying cars, trips to Mars, and anything else promised by The Jetsons.

If you dream of downloading music and browsing the Web from your breakfast table, all while playing face-to-face mahjohng against your girlfriend’s mother in Korea, this magic box will make it happen.

You’ll be able to get the iRiver Wave Home from iriver.com for a fairly modest price of $400 around the middle of this year (2009).
