Are you a wordpress plugin whore? I know I am. My motto is get all the useful wordpress plugins you can find that make your job a lot easier. Why work so hard to do somethings that can be done for you?

I’ve given you the money making affiliates I use on my make money page, and I thought it was high time I give you the wordpress plugins I use as well. I know it can be very frustrating to visit someone’s blog, see something you like and want to try, only to not be able to find exactly what plugin they use. Is it some kind of mystery that many bloggers don’t want others knowing about? A trade secret of some sorts perhaps? I don’t know, because I’m not that way. I’ll tell you everything I do and use.

Here is my list of 26 plugins that I currently use:

Akismet

Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not. You need a WordPress.com API key to use it. It comes already preloaded into wordpress.

 Broken Link Checker

 Commentluv

The plugin that is used to display the performancing ads affiliate buttons and banners.

This plugin detects all ways to access your original WordPress feeds and redirects them to your FeedBurner feed so you can track every possible subscriber.

    Hi Steven,
Looks like you are going to need one more plug in when your blog gets more popular, which is WP Security. It prevents your blog from being hacked.
A nice blog. You caught my attention at JohnChow.com and Yaro’s blog. I got a feeling you will be big some day, much bigger than JohnChow and Yaro. Hope you remember what I said here when the day comes.
    All the best!

Thanks for the suggestion. I just added it! I’m also looking into other security plugins to see what’s out there.

Not many bloggers talk about the security side of things. I might do a post on what I find.

Did you take it off your blog because of SEO reasons? I see in your plug-in list that you have Hidden Affiliate Links. I was looking to add a plug-in tonight, but now I’m seconding guessing it.

@AverageGal: That was an old post, when I first started. It’s a great plugin. It wouldn’t work right on my blog for some reason.

I use a different method. Manually.

If it works on your blog, go for it! It’s a good idea.

Sounds great Steven. Thanks for the info. I look forward to reading the post :) . I hope you include your method of manually hiding the affiliate link.
